Big title. Here’s what I mean: You have a website that you haven’t added any new content to for a few years, a social media profile with no activity for months or years and messages you fail to reply to. Don’t worry, you’re not the only one.
If the last thing you published online was years ago, what are people likely to think?
Out of date, left to collect dust, no longer relevant
It’s like a food shop with out of date goods, electrical goods outlet with obsolete devices, a newsagent selling only last weeks news; nobody is interested and it decats, collects dust, does nothing to help grow your business.
So many websites fly to the top of Google and start generating new business only to drift out of sight because of complacency or the internet marketing ‘team’ running out of ideas. It’s often because the whole job of website and internet marketing has been left up to one person and that one person has not been given any input by the marketing, advertiising, sales and management teams.
Internet marketing is a full-time project and needs input from every department
Yes, that means the advertising department, marketing department, top management… They are the people in your business who know what your business needs to be saying on social media, what it needs to by announcing on the website and what content is worthy of being published.
If you have a promotion planned, tell your website developer. If you have just landed a brilliant new contract, announce it on social media. If one of your employees just completed a marathon to raise money fo charity, be proud about it and tell everyone via your website, a YouTube video and tell your Facebook followers.
